Zendaya wax figure at Madame Tussauds draws mixed responses

Zendaya has been immortalized in wax.

The TV/film/music star, who was born in Oakland and honed her acting chops at such local arts groups as California Shakespeare Theater and TheatreWorks, now has a statue at Madame Tussauds in London.

Fan reactions have been mixed about the wax figure, which shows her wearing a bright pink suit that she first donned at the Humane Society of the United States gala in 2016. People took to Twitter to post their reviews of the work, with several making the case that there are better Zendaya outfits/occasions to capture in wax.

Many seemed to agree the wax figure doesn’t do a great job in portraying Zendaya as a Hollywood movie star.

Others also commented on the wax figure’s facial expression, noting that it makes Zendaya look like she’s annoyed.

Others thought the wax figure does justice to Zendaya.

And at least one fan thought that the Madame Tussauds crew did the best it could, given the tall task at hand.
